Welcome to the Higher Ground Society Freedom School 2025: Bay Minette event! Join us at the Bay Minette Public Library on August 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM for a day filled with learning, growth, and community. This is a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and expand your knowledge in a supportive environment.

In this installment of the HGS Freedom School sessions, Auburn University associate professor of history Dr. David Carter will lead participants in exploring the long history of Black resistance from Reconstruction through Jim Crow to today. Participants will learn how individuals and communities endured state violence and economic oppression through activism, art, and cultural expression.
